Who Can Argue With Copyblogger?
When Copyblogger steps up and says, “Hey! Participate in this project. I am, and it’s worth it…” people listen. Including me.
Blog Action Day is set for October 15, 2007. On that day, the organizers hope everyone talks about one issue: the environment.
“Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic. Our aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future.”
The initiative is the brainchild of Leo, Collis and Cyan Ta’eed.
Currently, there are over 2,200 blogs participating. You can too.
I’ve already got my thinking cap on in terms of how the environment fits into this blog. There are any number of directions to go, and it will prove very interesting to see how people extend their own niches into the subject matter as well.

I don’t think my kids have gotten the memo that no one can argue with me.
Brian - Do kids read memos? I haven’t tried that technique yet. I’m still in crying and begging mode…
I think this was a wonderful idea, I have already signed up. kudos to the organizers!

Hell yes I’ll write about the environment. I think sooner or later everyday should be blog about the environment day. The blogsphere really could make a difference.
How about, instead of bloggin about the environment everyone turns off their PC for an hour. That outta cut out some greenhouse gases!

RT - I know of a project called DarkGreenPC run by Zero Footprint (http://www.zerofootprint.net/) that wants to get everyone to switch their screen savers to black. That alone would save considerable energy according to what they’ve proposed, and what I’ve heard.
Thats a good idea! Wonder if it is true. I’ll check it out, thanks.
I work in a big firm where I could probably get 400 or so computers to do this. Might be worthwhile if they can get a few corporate contacts to pay attention.

I know the project is for real, but I’m not sure they’ve gotten it off the ground.
If you go to http://www.darkgreenpc.org it redirects to an announcement about the project, and the fact that Zero Footprint is hiring to help out with it. But I don’t know where it’s progressed since then.
