The History of Blogging: I’m a Part of It
Steve Spalding is a blogging force to be reckoned with. He writes a fantastic blog over at How To Split an Atom. I encourage you to check it out, if you haven’t already.
And now he’s launched a new initiative — History of Blogging — of which I’m playing a part. It was great to be invited…
History of Blogging is a new kind of blog network - each member picked by Steve, each member tackling technology and social media issues from a different perspective. We’re loosely connected through History of Blogging where we publish links of interest (from our own sites but primarily from others), to bring you an assortment of top-quality content (hopefully!) I’ve already discovered a number of blogs and people absolutely worth tracking.
With that in mind, here’s the list of people participating in Steve’s latest project:
- Charo Nuguid, head geekette at The Geekette Speaketh
- Mark Dykeman, social media analyst of Broadcasting Brain
- Dan Rua, venture capitalist of Florida Venture Blog
- Elmer Thomas, navigating Web 2.0 for tech entrepreneurs at Thinking Serious
- Joseph Ferrara, real estate guru at Sellsius Real Estate Blog
I look forward to participating with this group and seeing where History of Blogging takes us. And I hope you enjoy all of these bloggers and the content they share as well!

The concept is very good and I look forward to seeing the history of blogging soon. I shall shortly visit How To Split An Atom too to check out the site.
You know I just read a fascinating post along with an interview, which talked about the history of Internet Marketing. It’s a little bit different than what you’re talking about here but still losely related and I thought it was still worth the mentnion. It’s called “An Internet Marketer Turns 12″ by David Ledoux, I don’t want to post the website here, but it can be found at the url in my name.
Interesting post, im quite a big fan of Steves “how to split an atom” blog, he posts some real worthy stuff.
[…] Instigator Blog - I got to know - and enjoy - business blogger extraordinaire Ben Yoskovitz back when he blogged for b5 on Startup Spark. Now he’s instigating discussion, ideas and better business - and winning awards - at Instigator Blog. […]
Congratulations for being on the list.
Being new to the whole blogging scene, I feel like I’ve missed so much. So I look forward to seeing some concise information on how this all got started and why it’s become so important to be on the internet and blogging to your hearts content! I never knew I had so much to say, now its trying to make it all make sense. Keep up the good work!
Please don’t take (too much) offence, but isn’t it .. a bit too early, for a history of blogging? I don’t think there’s even a decade worth of blggers.
Of course, people are developing new and exciting methods of communication daily, refining the tools, going all the way to blogging or microblogging, but only a certain time will show the real value of this.
Just my two cents …
@Emirhan: *chuckle* … maybe it is too early, you’d have to ask Steve Spalding at http://www.howtosplitanatom.com - he came up with the name. I’m just happy to be a part of it.
