Start up companies are for start up people It is really hard to get a job in a good company right out of a college so its helpful to gain some experience in a start up company. Ofcourse starting up in a start up company should rely on the setting the goal of gaining an experience and hope for improving and steping up and there is a great chances of the company going bankruptcy so dont set your goals to high and get depressed after that. Thats how start up companies work. Great post! I thought what you said in the last paragraph was key – “You should know the risk so you can look for it and be prepared for it.”

My company did a survey last year, and almost 4 out of 5 participants (78%) felt that they did not have the skills to cope with stress. So, sometimes, it's not just about the crazy hours…it's about knowing what to do when you've got too many things to get done in a finite amount of time.

So, yes, you need to ask questions about the culture before you go in, and it also isn't a bad idea to examine how well you can handle stressful situations.
