PodPress Has Buggered My Feed Formatting

by Ben Yoskovitz

Looks like PodPress 7.3 (and 7.2) has buggered my feed formatting so that all HTML/links/images are stripped out. This is very disappointing because I know a lot of you read Instigator Blog via feeds, and it’s hard to when you can’t even see a simple paragraph break.

I’m working to fix the issue. If there’s no quick fix I’ll disable PodPress and temporarily shelve Your Passion Podcast until I find a solution that works.

Sorry again - please stay subscribed via RSS and we’ll get through the bumpiness. Thank you.

  • Ben. I'm using NetNewsWire on the Mac and I don't have any problems with your feeds. All have links and all links work. Not sure if this helps at all.

I also have PodPress installed at Healthy WebDesign and have had no known problems with my feed links. No podcasts yet for me, but it's in the plans and under development.
  • Dawud - downgrading to 7.2 might have done the trick.

You see proper formatting as well in the feeds? Paragraph breaks, etc.?

    What about on old posts?
  • The source for your feed looks fine now, Ben. Good deal!
  • Yeah, the formatting and links are both fine in older posts as well. I can send you some screen shots if you want. Just give me a specific date you'd like to see and I'll take a screenshot and send it to you.
  • Dawud - looks like going back to PodPress 7.2 did the trick, which is great.

Google Reader takes forever to update so while I was making changes / tweaking things yesterday I couldn't see if it was working or not.

Looks like we're in the clear!
  • Glad to see. Sorry I couldn't be of more help sooner.
  • Hi,
Just came upon your site...great info!
I have a quick question hopefully someone can answer...is there a way to have the Podcast Powered by podPress not show at the bottom of a page? I have tried to delete out the text from the podpress.php file...but it just keeps showing back up.

Appreciate any help anyone could offer.

  • Wayne - Yes I believe there is. I'm using PodPress 7.5 -- if you click into PodPress -> General Settings and go to the bottom of the page you'll see a checkbox option for "show PodPress footer" -- uncheck that and you should be good to go.

Let me know if that helps!

    Ben - Yes it did...thanks!
  • Wayne - glad I could help! Best of luck...
