Tips and Resources for Being a Freelancer


Being a freelancer is challenging in many ways. For the most part you’re a one-person show. You have to handle everything: sales, marketing, operations, billing, etc. As a freelancer you’re running a mini-business, with all of the trials and tribulations that come with that.

But going freelance has its benefits too. You have much more control over what you do, how you do it and when. You are the “master of your domain” (if you exclude customers, who are generally, always the masters…) Typically freelancers can be more creative, experimental and certainly get to see a more direct link between their work and the results. There are less politics, and more upside potential.

In this day and age, the opportunities to freelance are growing. Freelancers are popping up in many industries and growing their businesses like never before. To succeed as a freelancer, you need to be prepared. You need to learn a ton, and make sure that you prop up areas of knowledge where you’re lacking.
